Sooo close...

mookie

Not to winning, of course, but to The Mookie final table, which would have been a nice feather for the proverbial cap. Continuing to shake the rust off; things are going well. Probably the biggest thing I've picked up from extensive railbirding of Absinthe is that patience is indeed a virtue, and a better spot might be just around the corner. It's served me well; that is, so long as I can stick to it. With an M under 5, I started looking for places to push and pretty cards to go with them. One of those two factors is more important than the other, and thus, just because your cards are those fancy picture ones doesn't mean you should push on top of an early position raise with a few people behind you to act. We'll see if I can remember that for next time.

I do have one very important strategy tip for you all, and I hope you pay close attention. When playing in a tournament with our favorite former Star Trek actor, insist that he wash his hands beforehand, and do not - I repeat, DO NOT [and really, this cannot be stressed enough] let him moisturize afterwards; nor at any point during the duration of the tournament. In fact, it probably wouldn't hurt if you checked him for Shea butter that he might be hiding somewhere on his body. He is an addict and will no doubt use all sorts of trickery to get his fix. But trust me - when properly lotioned, the man is a poker table menace. Don't say I didn't warn you...
