Me likee the "stream of consciousness" style.

Sometimes my 3-year old likes to type when I'm playing online. Every so often, one of us hits enter and my tablemates get to see "dinosaur" or "monkey."

So, sorry. :)

So what's the whole "bet pot" thing vs. value betting?

I usually bet pot when there's a flush draw on the flop in a multi-way pot. Sometimes, even more than the pot, if available, to destroy drawing odds. Of course, all it takes is one idiot calling to give a legitimate draw the right odds to call also.

Am I doing it right?

You know Joe, I wouldn't mind things like "dinosaur" or "monkey"...hell, that would make me laugh my ass off. It's the weird stuff that isn't even words. You know, it's like they started to type words and then got distracted...once I can understand. Twice...eh. Fifth time?? Put. the. bottle. down. Or just give me the chips and be on your way. :)

And BSN, yes, you got the whole bet the pot thing down right. And when I'm the one wanting to the do the drawing, it's such actions from people like you that make me say "damnit" and muck. So good for you! :) Value betting you don't mind a caller or two...you're comfortable in the strength of your hand, and the board isn't scary, so you don't mind your opponent(s) seeing another card or two. So of course usually, when you bet the pot on the flop, you'll end up with little more than the blinds, whereas if you had been able to bet your hand for value, it would have been much more profitable. Suited flops suck. Unless they match your cards, of course!

Full Tilt has color coding for notes. I've been having some fun with it. Red=pissed me off, yellow=weak, purple=respect (haven't used the purple much).
